Life update: tattoo

Right so those of you who have been reading this blog for a while, might remember about two months ago I wrote a post about tattoos (Right here) and how much I wanted one and I included all those that gave me inspiration...
Well about three weeks ago I actually went and got one. This isn't a boasting or bragging kind of thing, I just thought it might be interesting for to some of you. I love reading about other people's tattoo and seeing them.

Mine is on my left foot, and it's a swallow which I came up with myself and then the tattooist resized it. It's just black and shaded with the tiniest amount of white; I'm really like it. It's nearly all healed so I thought I'd show you.

Do any of you have tattoos or are you planning on any? If you'd like to show me and leave a link below I'd love to see them!

Thanks for reading, and please comment/subscribe if you liked this post :)

  2. Fantastic work! How much did it cost you? I'd love to get loads of tattoos, I have so many ideas and not enough skin, but I'm petrified of the pain! Did yours hurt much, especially on your foot?

    1. Thanks, it was £55 which is quite a bit expensive but as I knew the place was good and recommended I didn't mind. It did hurt and a bit more nearer the bonier/less fleshy part but it was unbearable, I'd happily do it again :)

    2. Ooh that's not too bad given they've done a fantastic job! How did the healing process go? Scabbing? Wow I'm surprised, I always hear such bad things about foot tattoos, glad it worked out well for you! I've nominated you for a blog award hun, check it out at http://zombiesweareyeliner.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/the-sunshine-award.html

    3. It healed up quite quickly, my skin jut went a bit flaky over it, no proper scabbing which I was happy about! Yeah I had too which made me really nervous. They do say the closer to the toes the more painful though. Thanks I'll check it out!

  5. Daniella - that is one of the loveliest swallow tattoos I have seen! You did a great job coming up with it and the tattooist was obviously skilled :-)

  7. I've always wanted to get a bow on my foot, yours is really pretty, did it hurt? I heard your foot is meant to be one of the most painful places? x

    1. Thanks, it did at first but then I got used to the pain and before I knew it, it was finished :) The tattooist who did mine said that apparently ribs are supposed to be the most painful, but with feet it's worse the closer to the toes you go

  8. Thankyou for always taking the time out to comment on my blog Daniella, I love your tattoo. I've got two tattoos and about 12235346457457 more planned - I've always fancied having an 'old school' style bird tattoo somewhere, but dont think I could bare the pain on the foot, how was it?! xo

    1. No problem :) I'm the same I knew I always wanted this one, so I got it first now there's so many more I want! It did hurt quite a bit at first, and the less fleshy (lower wing of the bird) part of my foot hurt more, but it was bearable and I'd happily do it again for one this size

  10. Really love this, the detailing on it is excellent! How long did it take to do? I really want a tattoo on the inside of my wrist but I'm not so good with pain! Though one day, I'll just go and get it done! Are you going to get any more? x

    1. Thank you! It took about 45 mins to do. There's lots more I want, but it took me ages to finally decide on getting this one. I'm sure I'll get another in a year or so. What do you want on your wrist? That's one of the places I'd want another

    2. Ooo 45mins doesn't sound so long! I'd like to get maybe a dove or a tree on my wrist, still haven't decided. I hear that a lot from people who have tattoos - you're always planning the next one! x

    3. Ha I think it becomes quite addictive, and you forget the pain! No it wasn't that long, it felt longer but when it finished my foot didn't really hurt at, had to walk with cling film on it all day though- looked so cool :)

I would like to do one like yours on my wrist but instead I wrote "believe" to give me strength. (I'm very pessimistic)
This year I want to do another but this time on my foot. 3 stars to give me luck.
