All Hallows Eve...

I'm not usually a big celebrator of Halloween, especially when it falls mid week like today, if it was on a Saturday and there was a party, I'd dress up. Today all I could muster was some dripping blood nail art.
I do however, love the stories. So today I've put together a list of some of my favourites scary books!

Essie polishes and a review

After a week of too much spending (I literally have no money now!) I thought I'd show some of the additions I made to my Essie nail polish collection  and also review a topcoat I bought on a whim which is brilliant!
I bought, Navigate her, Ballet Slippers, A Crewed interest and Mint Candy Apple.

Winter Warmers: pie

A chicken and mushroom pie in this case. This is one for the meat eaters out there, but not to worry 'Vegetablerians'! I've put in a few veggie suggestions later on. I've never really made pie before or been a huge fan of it to be honest. But I found myself bored one evening and kind of craving pastry and meaty pie-ness. I even went and bought myself two cheap pie dishes (as I had none)! As per, this is a slightly lazier option.....

Shades of Autumn... part deux

So this weekend was a bit of a boring one, I was still feeling quite ill and the weather was pretty rubbish! So we stayed in for most of it, apart from a little photography trip/ car ride out and about. I managed to get some allright photos of the autumnal-ness and thought I'd share (sorry for the snap happy post in advance)
Empty, tree lined street in my town.

Life lately...

Since starting back at university I've been struggling with time keeping, my first lecture back I was 25 minutes  late as I couldn't find the weird room that I'd never been to before or even people working in the building knew of! I arrived late and had to do a kind of 'walk of shame' around the room to find a chair!
So anyway, just wanted to do a little update, say what I've been up to lately and why I haven't been on as much recently!
A you can see my 'spare' time involved a lot of cocktails :) Clockwise its; crack o'dawn on the train to uni, TGIF cocktail 'bowls', too much reading for uni, teapot cocktails in a speak easy.
I've been doing too much reading for uni, and getting up way too early, I've also been trying to fit ingoing to the gym, since I joined and all it seems silly not to go. But I do hate it!

I went to see The Perks of being a Wallflower on weds, I didn't think much to it!! Anyone else seen it or read the book? I've also been listening to a lot of Ben Howard, Mumford and Sons, Lana del Ray and randomly Baz Luhrman's Everybody's free(to wear sunscreen). I thought I'd finish on a lovely quote from that song:
'Don't worry about the future, or worry; but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blind sides you at four pm on some idle Tuesday. Do one thing everyday that scares you'

House of Fraser: Oasis Autumn line

I was recently contacted by House of Fraser who asked me to pick out some of my favourite pieces from The Oasis collection on the House Of Fraser website.
Personally I'm a massive fan of Oasis and love their pieces, I always look there first for a 'going out' dress or jacket and have recently found a new love for their shoes.
I decided to choose a few items that represent my personal style but also were key pieces this Autumn- and key trends. I chose pieces that are classic but adaptable; dressed up or down and used as a starting point to create different looks. I chose key pieces like a (P)leather skirt and baroque top. and trends like western, stud, faux fur collars and oxblood.
I hope you like them!

I think my favourites have to be the Ankle boots and Leopard collared top of the first 2 outfits- I love the colour of the boots and I love the Fur collar quilted coat and the Baroque embellished top of the second.

What do you guys think? Do you have any favourites from the Oasis collection you would have styled differently?
Thanks for reading :)

Peach Upside down cake

This is the lazy girl's recipe, as I'm using peach slices from a tin, you are more than welcome to cut up 4-5 peaches. But I couldn't be bothered...
Its pretty tasty and easy to make, so one of my favourites. You will need: a whisk (electrical preferred- this is the lazy girl's recipe!), a mixing bowl, some sort of measuring/weighing device, a baking tray.. an oven.
The ingredients are;
