Liz Earle Vs. Superdrug

I thought I'd do a little comparison review of a famous 'cult' beauty product- the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser and Superdrug's new dupe; the Vitamin E Hot Cloth cleanser ...

So in two days it's Valentines day, named after St. Valentine a saint who nobody quite knows what he did or why he was killed.
A brief history is that we know that he was killed and February 14th is to commemorate he death - but many believe this may have just been the Catholic church's attempt at 'Chritianizing' the pagan festival of Lupercalia (a fertility festival usually resulting in marriage) which was from February 13th-15th. The festival was outlawed and many years later the date became synonymous with 'love'. Valentines greetings (cards) go as far back as the middle ages and in the UK was widely celebrated from the 17th Century onwards.

I don't really go in for the whole Valentines thing (I like any excuse to go for a fancy meal out though!), but I thought the history was quite interesting and I like poems, so I've picked out a pretty love poem:

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being an Ideal Grace.

I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.

I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old grief's, and with my childhood's faith.

I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints,--I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!-- and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

How do I love thee? - by Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Thanks for reading :)  What are you all doing, whether single or taken? Or do you count it as 'just another day'?

Night time Origins

For Christmas I received 2 origins products that I had really wanted for quite some time. I'd read a lot of reviews on various blogs about them, and now that I've been using them for about 6 weeks I thought I'd throw in my two cents too! The two I go are both 'night time' products, a mask and a cream.

Shopping the sales

This January I (like to) think I've been quite restrained when it's come to sales shopping. I've bought some necessary things and some luxury- not everything as in the sale My best buy definitely has to by my Ohmylove black Sarah dress which has only just come back in stock and with £20 off!!
1) Xen-tan, Look fantastic, £16   2) Sarah dress, Ohmylove, £25   3) Ecote armour tee, U.O., £10   4) Hipflask, U.O., £12
5) Rucksack, River Island, £15,   6) Patent Ballerina, Zara, £9.99
I got 2 other things; a body con midi striped midi skirt and a basic black jewelled dress from Urban outfitter- but they're not on the website. I bought a few things from Topshop too, things I ordered on Boxing day and received 15 days after (and after I'd actually cancelled the order, they still delivered it so now I have to pay for postage for items I no longer want) Very pissed off at the terrible customer service from Topshop sent them numerous emails now, but they keep fobbing me off- and can't even spell my name correctly!... *rant over*
One thing I didn't buy was skincare and body products as I received so much for Christmas it will probably last me till  2015!
What have you all been buying the sales? or are you on spending bans or just more restrained than me?
Or have you had any terrible customer care from any shops over the holidays?
