Beauty bits from chrimbo

First off, to the haters, this isn't a bragging post. I just like talking about beauty, non? And as I kindly got some beauty things for christmas, I thought I'd share :)
First up, I got something I'd been wanting for aages: The Antipodes Vanilla Pod Day cream. After using it (everyday since xmas) I think it's lovely and wish I'd got it sooner!
I also got a new Nuxe reve de Miel, as my old one was running a bit low. This has to be my favourite lip balm, it's a bit heavy but so lovely and the best for my lips. I also got the Origins GinZing moisturiser which I haven't tried before. I use the Origins Ginzing eye cream everyday so looking forward to trying this out.
I also got two make up bits: NARS Douceur and Benefit 'They're real' mascara. Both of which I've been wanting for quite a while.
NARS Douceur comes up a little darker than pictured here, but I really like it. it's quite a dusky, dark pinky shade and different from my other fav blush; Deep Throat. I didn't think I'd like the Benefit brush as I'm not a fan of the plastic brushes, but I'm really liking it!

What did you get for Christmas? Or pick up any goodies in the sales? I bought quite a lot in the Zara sale.

Christmas time

So I've wanted to do a post for the past week but haven't found the time- last minute Christmas shopping taking over!
My Saturday was spent with pretty stereotypical Christmassy things, ice skating, eating a LOT of food, shopping and German markets! Below are just a few snaps of the day that I took..
Skating at Somerset house
Giant Reindeer in Covent Garden
German Markets on the Southbank
Have you been to any Christmas markets this year? I love going to them, they all seem to sell the same rubbish, but they feel so Christmassy :)

Currently loving..

Since changing the colour of my hair from a dark mahogany type brown to an auburn/ginger colour I've found I've had to change my make up too. To me, blacks now look harsher against my hair (and pale pale skin) and I've found browns and greys a lot better.
Hence my new favourite eye line being this Daniel Sandler* one from HQ Hair. It's grey and water proof and long lasting so doesn't smudge- which is amazing! Another favourite I've been using on my eyes it this 24 hour colour tattoo from Maybelline, I have two others and absolutely love them. This On and On Bronze shade is so pretty and looks great with my (hazel) eyes. It seems like the perfect shade for any eye colour though!

What have you all been loving lately?

A Lush Christmas

I'm sure if you're a Lush fan then you'll know all about their amazing Christmas range from bathbombs to bubble bars and the infamous Snow Fairy scent.
I'm not a huge fan of Snow Fairy, but I love the cute festive bath bombs/melts that they bring out this time of year, and the other day I was passing by a Lush and couldn't resist this cute penguin's face (below)!
The Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar and the Melting Snowman Bath Melt :) The penguin has Sicilian lemon oil, and the snowman has almond oil. I thought they were so cute. I'm sad the snowman seems to have lost an eye in transit!
And I also picked up this Shooting for the Stars bath bomb. I love how they managed to get a shooting star on it :) It smells of one of my al time favourite scents- Bergamot! Soo good!

Have your guys picked up anything from the Lush Christmas range? I will probably get more after quickly going through these!

A Christmas nail look..

..that I've been loving! And now that it's officially December I can :)
When I first got this Orly polish* in Angel Rain I wasn't so sure if I'd like the colour. It's a bit 'shimmery'  for me. But after wearing it on my nails for the past week I've been loving it- especially the lovely two tone glimmer it gives off. Pairing it with my new favourite top coat (I don't know why I didn't buy this sooner!!) Seche Vite and it's a winner!
And below you can see my rather botched attempt at drawing a snow flake with my new Barry M nail art pen in white. I think it's needs a bit of practice, but the white against the blue looks so pretty and wintery.
Have any of you tried nail art? What is the easiest thing for a beginner/clumsy person to do!? Any help would be appreciated as I'm stuck on ideas after a snowflake!
