Travel destinations: Copenhagen

I was there only last weekend, and I really really like it. I've been going regularly- although not the past 5 or so years- since I was a child as some of my family are in Malmö, and Copenhagen is only a short train ride away.
It is expensive, like most of Scandinavia, but like most places if you know where not to go, it doesn't seem so bad. The currency is Danish Krone and roughly is DKK 9.5 to £1.
There's so much to do; it actually has one of the world's longest shopping streets: Strøget (which is actually made up of smaller linking streets). It begins in the West at City Hall Square or Rådhuspladsen, as pictured above and showing the City Hall. And below is part of Strøget.
The language is Danish, although most of the population speak English so it's perfectly easy to get around. If you stay in the city centre ( we stayed on Vesterbrogade near the Train Station) most things are within walking distance. One area that's a must visit is Nyhavn, the harbour area, full of ships, canals and lined with cafes and houses that look typically Danish, however, the cafes are extortionate(!) and filled to the brim with tourists.
I think it's so pretty and love the typical Danish style of the houses, we even found a Lego Nyhavn in the Lego store on Strøget!
Lastly there's one more area that you should visit in Copenhagen: Tivoli! A theme park... ok slight exaggeration, but it has some rides-and it's in the city centre, about 30 seconds walk from the station!
It has more than rides; restaurants, shows, arcades and gardens to look around. It costs to get in and then to go on each ride, unless you buy a multi ride ticket. It's expensive but worth it for a nice afternoon/evening out.
One last thing, that unfortunately I was unable to get a photo of, is The Little Mermaid statue in Langelinie, inspired by the story from Hans Christen Anderson, who's from Denmark. It's really pretty and I'm sure you all know the Disney story.... Anderson's had a bit of a different ending!
I'd really recommend this as a city break, it is expensive but no more than say, Paris! It's lovely in summer and winter. Have any of you been to Copenhagen or planning to, or even Malmö?
